Privacy
RailMonNA collects only the information needed to create reporter accounts, verify email addresses, and publish train-sighting reports.
Account Data
Reporter accounts store an email address, public username, password hash, account role, account status, and verification timestamps. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.
Report Data
Train reports may include locomotive numbers, railroad, train ID, direction, time, notes, and location details such as coordinates, state, county, and town. Public reports should show accountability through usernames, not reporter email addresses.
Location Data
If you allow location access, your browser asks for permission before sharing it. You can move the report pin before submitting. The final coordinates used in a train report become part of that public report, so do not submit a private or unsafe location.
Your Privacy Choices
During beta, requests to review or delete account information should be sent to the site owner through the beta invitation or testing channel. RailMonNA does not currently use advertising or behavioral analytics. This notice will be updated before any tracking or paid service is introduced.
